چکیده
A Silicon Drift Detector Front-End and a Smart Readout System different from a trivial zerosuppression is proposed. ON-LINE pre-processing, using a Fast VLSI dedicated Fuzzy Processor, reduces significantly acquisition data volume and hardware requirements. SCHEMBARI – XXVIII Cycle “ Development and Characterization of a Low Noise Multichannel Readout ASIC for X and -
This Doctoral activity aims at the study and development of Xand gamma-ray detection systems based on Silicon Drift Detectors (SDDs) for diverse applications in the field of radiation detection instrumentation. Silicon Drift Detectors, invented by E. Gatti and P. Rehak in 1983 are now widely used detectors for applications demanding low-noise, high-rate soft X-ray detection solutions. In additi...
متن کاملWarp: Weight Associative Rule Processor a Dedicated Vlsi Fuzzy Logic Megacell
During the last five years Fuzzy Logic has gained enormous popularity, both in the academic and industrial worlds, breaking up the traditional resistance against changes thanks to its innovative approach to tackling problems. The success of this new methodology has led microelectronics industries to create a brand new class of machines, called Fuzzy Machines, to overcome the limitations of trad...

We evaluate the performances of a 100 μm-thick silicon strip detector (SSD) with a 300 MeV proton beam and a Sr β-ray source. Signals from the SSD have been read out using a VLSI chip. Common-mode noise, signal separation efficiency and energy resolution are compared with those for the SSD’s with a thickness of 300 μm and 500 μm. Energy resolution for minimum ionizing particles (MIP’s) is impro...
متن کاملThe Backward Silicon Track Trigger of the HERA Experiment H1
The Backward Silicon Tracker of the H1 experiment is being used in conjunction with a lead-fiber Calorimeter for detailed investigations of inclusive deeply inelastic scattering of leptons from protons, e±P → e±X, and of charm production at small values of the Bjorken variable x, x ≤ 10−3. In this thesis the development of a trigger for the Backward Silicon Tracker is described. The detector wa...
متن کاملPhoton dosimetry based on selective data sampling for the NaI(TL) detector
Radiation detection is essential for determining of radiation dose. Depend on the detector and dosimetry method, detection process is performed in different levels. Pulse counting is the first level of detection. Typically, the output of a radiation detector for determining value of the radiation dose cannot be used directly. Through changing the response function or the readout detector, is tr...
